(Visited today Tisopi village to review the PMSKY project and other projects.   The team trekked almost 15 KMs to reach the village.  Was completely overwhemlemed with the warm reception received from the people of Tisopi.  Local MTP youth carried me in a palanquin for about a km and showered me with great love and affection.  It was truly an honor which can't be explained in words.

Reminds of the faith and expectations people have from the government servants. Officers must always be continuously reminded of the faith that common people have in them to deliver.

Connectivity remains the biggest hurdle.   Currently Tisopi is accessible only from Lawngtlai district with a journey time of about 3 hrs.  The new proposed road under PMGSY will reduce the travel time to just 30 mins.

Also visited the Tisopi turmeric processing centre which won the PM award under PMKSY.  But sadly,  the condition is not good here either. The PM award did not bring any tangible benefit to the SHG involved.  The SHG was also demotivated. The AWC in tisopi needs improvement.  Badly in need of basic infrastructure. Nutrition gardens have been proposed for this AWC.

Overall a great learning experience for the entire team to connect with the ground realities. Have proposed a few works including the Tisopi playground to be taken up under MNREGA.  Hope to provide some solutions to their problems.

Moreover,  this was also an opportunity to connect with nature despite many leeches 😀)
